New Fluid Power Products

AutomationDirect : Pneumatics product line

The NITRA™ line now includes several new series of products to help meet a broad range of pneumatic air supply pressure regulation and filtration applications. While each series is designed to work in stand-alone applications, the modular design enables field assembly for combining additional components.

Spraying Systems Co : TankJet™ 4 Fluid-Driven Tank Washers
For high-impact cleaning of large tanks, vats or vessels, our new fluid-driven TankJet 4 offers many benefits including better cleaning than competitive units. Providing more consistent impact over the entire pressure range, TankJet 4 tank washers remove even the stickiest of residues.

Deublin Co. : New Machine Tool Rotating Union Catalog Available
Deublin Company has just issued a new 36-page Engineering Catalog (MT063 US) for designers and users of coolant unions for machine tool, machining center and transfer line applications. This comprehensive reference guide offers an easy-to-use reference chart and ordering checklist.

Case Histories/White Papers and Research
Whitepaper:  Smith & Wesson® Cuts Outside Costs and Recycles Oil with Driflex™ Oil Conditioning System
Company: Pentair Industrial
Since 1852, Smith & Wesson® has been associated with high-performance and highprecision firearms for safety, security and protection, as well as sport. To maintain efficient production speeds and keep up with customer demand, Smith & Wesson employs manufacturing processes that use approximately 30,000 gallons of machine lube oil per year, with 19,800 gallons recycled each year. Processing and recycling this oil became a significant burden, involving the excessive costs and inconvenience of thirdparty oil treatment processes.

Whitepaper:  Eliminate Leak Points and Cost from Your Hydraulic System with Tube Routing, Bending and Clamping Best Practices
Company: Parker Hannifin Corporation, Tube Fittings Div
Proper procedure helps ensure a leak-free, long-lasting, easy-to-service system for reduced material, maintenance and replacement costs.

Whitepaper:  Taking the Guesswork Out of Pneumatic Control
Company: Clippard Instrument Laboratory Inc
Designers have several options when constructing pneumatic-control systems. But modular air-logic systems are often a good bet when a compact, economical unit is a must. They typically consist of a series of valves mounted onto standard manifold subplates. Such systems speed assembly and piping, and all interconnections between valves and controls in the circuit are machined into the manifold subplate. This cuts design and installation time, reduces the number of fittings, and eliminates piping and the routing errors that often go with it.

Whitepaper:  MR Technology, Tactile Feedback and Application of By-Wire Systems
Company: Lord Corp
Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) are re-engineering traditional vehicle hydraulic systems with intelligent electrical systems that reduce complexity and improve performance. Hydraulic systems are often inefficient, noisy, complex and poise certain environmental concerns in the event of leakage. That said, these systems have been around for many years, so OEMs are comfortable with their implementation. By contrast, non-hydraulic or electro-hydraulic systems are inherently clean (no fluids), quiet to operate, efficient and allow for more ergonomic design and less complex installation during the manufacturing process.

Whitepaper:  Introduction to Pneumatics and Pneumatic Circuit Problems for FPEF Trainer
Company: Clippard Instrument Laboratory Inc
The Fluid Power Educational Foundation, with its members, have designed this training panel and manual to help technical teachers and industrial trainers facilitate a hands-on experience with pneumatics. This FPEF curriculum is designed to be used in conjunction with a pneumatic trainer capable of demonstrating the principles and circuits outlined in the curriculum.
